Pulling the dozer, a Komatsu, not a Cat, out of Gambles using two D8 Cats. A single D8 was unable to pull it by it's self. Posted by Hello

The other concrete building that was destoryed is in the back ground. The metal building with the hole in the side next to the white door, is where the machine was built. He drove it threw the wall. The yellow building was his muffler shop.  Posted by Hello
We went to see Shreek 2 this evening which took us threw Granby. Were happy to report the town is quiet and pretty much empty, with the exception of two news crews doing live reports from what used to be the town hall.
The bulldozer was moved to the electric company's poll yard on hwy 34 yesterday, and is now covered with tarps. We were wondering what their going to do with it.
People started cleaning up yesterday, and I would imagine every thing will be rebuilt by years end.

I have to say I was worried because Jeannie had called to tell me what was going on, and had watched the bulldozer go threw their parking lot. I listened to what was happening on the radio, but couldn't get a hold of Jeannie again to see if she was all right. I really got worried when they said he was headed back into town. The sheriff had come back to the store and told every one to leave the area. The first time the sheriff was there they had just told them to get out of the store. That was when he was headed toward the store. Thank God nobody was hurt!

If you look close at the dozer pic on the back you can clearly see the 50 cal rifle barrel right behind the small steel box. There were three video cameras mounted on the out side, and three video monitors mounted on the inside. There was an air tank that he could use to keep the camera lenses clean. The plating was solid so there was no other way to see where he was going. The steel plating was two layers with concrete in between. There were three mounted rifles.

Exciting day today...Some moron built himself an amour plated D9 Cat and proceeded to tear down town of Granby. Granby is where Jeannie works and when he was done destroying the cement plant, he used Leevers driveway to get to Main street and go after more buildings. He started around 2 this afternoon. It's quarter to 11 and they still haven't gotten him out of his bulldozer. Check out the pics.

I have narrowed my computer problem down to the bios and or driver. It hangs after windows has shut down, and a lot of the time won't make it past the hardware check when it's supposed to boot. It seems to hang on the CD player. I have checked the bios settings and they seem to be ok, so I will either have to reinstall the basic drivers or flash the bios. The plan is to get a new computer this summer. I still haven't decided weather I want to build a windows machine, just buy a Dell or what ever, or go back to Mac. Mac's are still expensive compared to PC's and XP in spite of it's security problems seems to work just fine. Maybe I'll just wait for the improved addition of XP or Longhorn.

I sure like being able to post pics directly to the blog. It's so much easier than posting to Yahoo or photolog. More pics coming.

And in answer to your question Donna, We do and don't miss living in California. Will try to explain later.

I've been having trouble with my computer so I just haven't felt like messing with it.

We had a great time on our vacation. Was kinda sad to see how much Big Bear has grown over the last 5 years. It looks like it's grown more than it did in the 25 years I lived there. Still it was nice to see our close friends and be back in Big Bear for a couple of days. Jeannie and me were sitting out front of our local burger stand yesterday talking about how peaceful and quiet it was here in Grand lake as compared to Big Bear, not to mention how clear the air is and how green every thing is now that spring has sprung.

Will be posting some vacation pics soon, probably on the yahoo link. And will be posting more trip comments as time and this computer will allow.

We sent that pic to 9news over a year ago. Guess you don't want to rush some things.

More later...Scott

We are home...We got here Friday evening, just haven't had a chance to up date. I will today or tomorrow.

Tuesday, May 11, 2004

Greetings from Big Bear lake. We have been here since yesterday morning (Monday)
We left Grand lake around noon Wednesday, and arrived in beaver Utah about 10:30pm Wednesday night. We left Beaver around 7:30am and got to Mesquite in time for breakfast. We got Calimesa around 7:30 Thursday night.
The trip has been great so far. No traffic or hot weather.
Were going to leave here tonight or tomorrow morning and head north and cut across Nevada and Utah going home threw Steamboat Springs. Should be home by Saturday, Sunday at the latest. I will cover the trip IM more detail when we get home.

Wednesday, May 05, 2004

We are leaving within half an hour. It's 12:15 pm. See ya when we get there.
We will be going by way of Utah on the 70 to the 15. Were going to try to make Nevada for the first leg of the trip. Should be in California by Thursday night or Friday morning at the latest. Oh yea, were planning to meet some friends in Vegas for lunch or dinner depending on how things go.
I will try to update this as we get access to computers so check the blog from time to time to see where we are and what were doing.
I decided to go to California with Jeannie. Were leaving to day.
